We spent the weekend house/pet sitting for my mom. Since her house is bigger and she has three animals we decided to pack up the girls and our dog and go stay at her place across town.
We had an okay time. It was a lot more work than I thought it would be. From packing up the girls which took forever because there is so much stuff you need for two babies, to taking care of four animals, two babies, and two people. I had hoped it was going to be a relaxing weekend since it was the first weekend that William and I had more than one whole day together since May.
Saturday we got up and William had to go help Tim and Beth move to their new apartment. From my mom's house that was about a 45minute drive, if not more. He was there for most of the day and came back in the early evening. Melissa came to my moms and helped me with the girls for a little while. We had a nice time together and even did a little shopping.
Sunday we got up and went to church at the church that I grew up in. It was nice to see all the familiar faces of people that used to be such a big part of my life. Maddy did fairly well in the service, even clapping and "singing" along with the songs. Morgan did well until the sermon at which point she decided it was too quiet and wanted to make some noise. I ended up spending almost all of the sermon in the foyer letting her crawl around on the floor. After church, William took us back to my moms and then drove out to Tim and Beths to get them to come over for dinner. While he was gone I put the girls down for a nap and tried to do some cleaning, even vacuuming my moms entire house. We didn't take them home until late that night and William got back to my mom's around midnight. We went straight to bed.
Monday was my favorite day. We slept in and then napped all day until about three. In between we just played with the girls and tried to spend time together as a family. We let the girls play the piano and they were like little Mozarts. Okay, well Morgan was. Maddy cried part of the time. Around three we got dressed and went to the mall. We took the girls on the carosel for the first time. Maddy liked it a lot and looked like it was the most normal thing in the world to be doing. Morgan was okay as long as she was sitting behind Maddy but when we tried to put them on their own horsies she was terrified. She spent the whole ride cluching the pole to the horse. It was kinda sad but cute at the same time. We did some shopping and ate a late lunch. Then we went back home and just layed around some more. Monday was the most relaxing day of the whole weekend. I wish we had made more of a point to spend the first part of it like that.
William's job has said that the next couple of months are going to be mandatory Saturdays, meaning that he will be working six days a week until at least Thanksgiving. While I am extremely bummed out about this, I don't know what I can do about it. I think it is good knowing ahead of time so I can plan things but it is also really depressing. I will be alright in the long run, it is just hard knowing that we will only have one day a week together as a family. His schedule is so full with him working between shifts.
Here are some pictures of the girls playing the piano. So sweet! I will post pictures from the mall later. All of the sudden blogger is giving me fits :(

I love those pictures of your little pianists! They look like they're having a blast.
I'm glad you had a good long weekend.
Glad you all had some time to spend together. I didn't realize it until I saw your pics, but my girls are two and have never been on a carousel!
